The hunger games:catching fire
The hunger games title sequence uses animation and motion. The fact that the hunger games is a very high budget film contributes well that it uses this type of title sequence as it has remained as the most difficult sequence to create, as it requires a lot editing and technology.
At the very beginning , the first image the audience is shown is in the woods or forest, in the middle of no where. They use the mise-en-scene very efficiently as they tend to bring the camera closer and closer, giving the impression that the audience is experiencing this view with their own eyes while passing trees. This gives the audience a sense of confusion and illusions, hence why they would want to continue to watch it. The colours that they tended to stick to, were dark and dull e.g. black and greys. These colours have connotations of danger and a feel of isolation. This often offer a metaphor or narrative thread to help introduce the tone and plot. The fact that theres only a single line of light, gives the audience an impression that theres a goal to stay alive and to make it to heaven. This also adds to the reason why a white butterfly is flying between the woods as they symbolize the souls of departed loved ones. The non-diegetic sound introduces the credits as it continues with extremely fast pace from the very first scene which contributes to the fluidity of the film, while still allowing the credits to be shown.
