Group 28 research…
I have looked at set 6, group 28 title sequence and
film opening and I was immediately intrigued by the different amount of camera
angles and match cuts, not only did they use the basics but they managed to add
the use of miss en scene throughout their posts. They often did a high angle
shot, which gave the impression that the main character was small and inferior
which ties in well with the genre of horror. I was generally fascinated by how
they paid attention to the little details like a house colour theme, which
gives the audience a sense of suspense as well as a sense of hostility. In
addition this gives the audience an advantage, as they’re able to track down
what genre it is. Further more, the addition of a timer at the bottom of the
screen creates a cold atmosphere. They often had dull colours to associate with
the genre of horror, which shows how they aimed to focus on the codes and
conventions. I would like my group to take this into consideration and
hopefully create one, just as great. I generally agree with how amazing this
title sequence is and would favor it as it managed to agree with the media
criteria and therefore I’m not surprised it got an amazing score.Jada's posts…
I managed to take a look at everyone’s posts but
the one that caught my attention was Jada’s. She not only managed to post 94
blogs but each was incredibly detailed. She used various ICT apps like Emaze,
which made her posts look very organized and easy to navigate through. In
addition it’s extremely pleasant to look at as she uses aftereffects to change
the appearance of certain clips. Perhaps the purpose of this was to make clips
that weren’t in focus, to be visually clearer but still managing to make the
lightning dull to fit in the codes and conventions of a typical horror film.
Overall
I really liked the layout of the blog as there was a lot of black which
connoted evilness and potentially death. The fact that red was also involved
demonstrated danger and blood. So the use of dull colours like purples and
blues gives a sense of a cold and tense atmosphere to the viewer which is
potentially what they would want to come across as hence why they would have
gotten a pretty high mark.
